[Museum] Fundação José Saramago

How time passes by. It’s been 8 years already since the death of Saramago and on the date of his passing Fundação José Saramago opened their doors for free. The ticket is not very expensive at all but I was on a off day from work and I had a lot of curiosity, because shamefully I had never been there before! So it was the best opportunity for me to go. Como o tempo passa. Já passaram 8 anos desde a morte de Saramago e na data do seu falecimento a Fundação José Saramago abriu as suas portas gratuitamente. O bilhete geralmente não é nada caro mas eu estava numa folga do trabalho e tinha  bastante curiosidade, porque infelizmente nunca lá tinha ido! Então foi a melhor oportunidade para eu ir.

The two floors and the shop have amazing things to discover. You can see tons of photos of Saramago and his friends and family, writers too, official documents of him, handwritten and handtyped pages that gave birth to his books and also stuff about the Nobel Prize ceremony! You can also see the foreign versions of his books, which is quite interesting to check. Os dois pisos e a loja têm tanta coisa fantástica para descobrir. Podem ver imensas fotografias de Saramago com família e amigos, escritores também, documentos oficial, páginas escritas à mão e à máquina de escrever que originaram os seus livros, e também coisas sobre a ceremónia da atribuição do Prémio Nobel! 

Give it a visit when you can, it’s worth it, but for now I’ll give you a sneak peak. Visitem quando puderem, vale a pena, mas por agora dou-vos um pequeno deslumbre.
